Just Add Vintage #14 Entry 1!

I had so much fun with the Just Add Vintage Challenge 14 over at Just Add Ink this week that I have two entries! Here is the first one!

Those of you that know me well have now realised that I am addicted to my Candle Wraps! Yes they are decorative, yes you need to remove them when burning candles, but they just slip right on again afterwards… AND THEY LOOK SO PRETTY!

So here is my Vintage take on this craft – and it is soooooo lovely – I am really happy with the way it has turned out:

The basis for this project is definitely the Very Vintage Stampin’ Around Wheel from the new SU! Autumn Winter Mini, and I have wheeled in Soft Suede ink onto Creamy Caramel Cardstock. For my next layer I have stamped the large bloom from the Playful Petals stampset again in Soft Suede onto Kraft CS, and here is the trick, swished my Aqua painter all over the stamped strip causing the ink to run, and then dried it off with my hairdryer… to my delight this created the perfect waterdamaged vintage effect!

The flower embellishments were stamped and watercoloroured in Soft Suede and Creamy Caramel, and then once everything was in place, I sponged over everything (and I mean everything) with just a little soft suede ink on my sponge. This closeup below shows you the effect of the ink on the hodgpodge hardware – it tarnished it up really nicely.

Can you see the “friends” sentiment coming through in the hodgepodge hardware frame?

Check out my next post for my second entry to this fun challenge and for goodness sake pop over to JAI to check out the fab talent out there – the design team have created some beautiful projects for inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out my next post for me second entry to Just Add Vintage.

  1. Love it Jan. What a great idea – Candle Wraps are and they make such a lovely gift too. I really like the way you have twisted the ribbon on this. Chantell
