Design Team Debut – Just Add Ink #25

My Debut Project as Design Team member over at Just Add Ink this week! It’s a colour challenge this week:

• Rose Red
• Elegant Eggplant
• Soft as Suede
• Very Vanilla

I thought I’d kick things off with a Candle Wrap – and after seeing “frock cards” around the blogs for some time, I had a go at creating my own fashion design.

Here is another look at the bodice, which I have created by punching a Very Vanilla Full Heart, embossing it with my Big Shot and Polkadot folder, snipping it through the middle and then lacing it up with linen thread. I’ve used a generous amount of hodgepodge hardware for this one. Sometimes one piece just isn’t enough!

I’ve pleated a semi circle of Soft as Suede DSP from the Autumn Traditions Pack and added a belt with Soft as Suede Polkadot Grosgrain Ribbon. My Rose Red band of ribbon is actually whisper white rubbed in versa mark ink and sponged with Rose Red Stampin’ pastels – cool huh?

If you feel inspired to have a go at your own candle wrap, be sure not to adhere the first layer to the candle as you want to be able to slip it off when burning. If you just pull it tight and use sticky strip to join it together at the back you’ll have no problems sliding it off 🙂
