Black Tie Candle Wrap

Today I’d like to share one of my favourite projects ever – I created this two weeks and ago and have been waiting for the new catalogue to launch so that I could show it to you…

I set out to use my gorgeous new DSP from Stampin’ Up! “Newsprint” (in particular the musical notes sheet), without any clear idea of what I was aiming for – My Black Tie Gentleman arrived as soon as I fastened my candle wrap with Brads and twisted them around to the front.  It gave me the idea of buttons and then away I went!  Just the day before I was chatting with my stamping friend Kylie about adhesives to use for wraps – and we were lamenting that sticky strip while, well er sticky, sometimes just doesn’t hold firmly enough, and Kylie said how she slips the wrap off and fastens down the seams with brads, then slips the wrap back on – GENIUS!!!

I have used the new Basic Black Satin Ribbon from SU (substituted as my order is still on its way!) to make the Bow Tie with a Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain feature, added some mini faux buttons using my Bigshot and Buttons die, and stamped the Congratulations onto Very Vanilla with Rich Razz Ink – this sentiment is from my favourite new stamp set Perfect Punches (Pg. 93 IB&C 10’11).  Once my order arrives I will use my Modern Label punch for this sentiment – hand cutting had to suffice this time!

Well I think he is just THE MOST handsome Black Tie Gentleman I have ever seen! What do you think?
