Handmade Cards, Medallion (Stampin' Up!)

Medallion Crazy

I have certainly smashed a few Medallion cards out of my craft room since acquiring this gorgeous stamp and want to share a few with you here:

This card is similar to a make and take from my recent workshop at the lovely Megan’s house, I was left with a few packs of pre-cut cards and have enjoyed playing around with them since… My card base is soft suede, Very Vanilla and Newsprint DSP.  I’ve used the rock and roll technique with the Medallion stamp in Soft Suede and Early Espresso, and then added some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint onto the stamp with a sponge prior to stamping. My sentiment is from the Afterthoughts hostess set, inking only the part that fits nicely in my Scallop Circle.  Can you see the paper piercing around the scallop? I think it adds a nice finishing touch along with the sponging in Soft Suede.

I haven’t quite finished this little baby yet – I love this card so much and plan on adding a sentiment only when I have the perfect recipient/occasion in mind 🙂 SO obviously I have started with the same card base and DSP, but this time I have versamarked the medallion, inked it with a light press on a Crumb Cake Ink Pad to add a little colour, stamped it, added heat and stick powder, used my heat tool to activate the powder and then liberally applied Dazzling Diamonds glitter to my image – sigh – so pretty! I’ve used my Bow Easy to tie this delightful bow in the Striped Wide Grosgrain – isn’t it beautiful?

Hope I’ve given you a little inspiration to try a few techniques with your medallion that perhaps give you a little more mileage out of  this beautiful stamp.
