I’ve been so looking forward to sharing this card with you š the AMAZING Kirsty Brown demonstrated this double butterfly technique at Melbourne Convention – and every crafter I’ve shown it to since has indeed been WOWED! (Thanks Kirsty!)
I pulled out my absolute favourite (retired) DSP Urban Garden for this card – Oh I love it so! You may have noticed that the butterfly is looking a little “fabric-y” – you are right! Another demonstrator at convention showed us how fabric can be used with all of our bigshot dies – I’ve made it a step easier and actually used our multipurpose adhesive sheets (magic little product) to adhere the fabric to cardstock, and then run that through the Beautiful Butterflies Die in a two-step process to create this butterfly.Ā Can you see the shimmer on my card?I’ve given it a lashing of Shimmer Mist tinted with Baja Breeze re-inker – it really gave my Newsprint DSP an edge.
And of course colour spritzed my card in night quite Navy to within an inch of it’s life!
I spent quite a long time on this card and I’m not giving it to ANYONE! It is staying proudly on my shelf where I can look at it whenever I like š
I demonstated a similar card today with the Sweet Stitches DSP – much more streamlined than this one – and gave it to my hostess Kim (Hi Honey) as a gift for hosting a lovely relaxed workshop (so much fun) – so I’ll have to make another one and post it when I get a chance – it turned out really cute š
