Handmade Cards

Special Occasion Framelits

I sat down last night to create two really special occasion cards, one a sympathy card which I’ve never made before, and another a wedding card, both to go in my stash. I am loving using Apothecary Art and in particular the largest stamp, but it does take a seriously loooooonnnggggg time to colour – so I wanted to emboss it and highlight the flowers and leaves with my versamarker for a little depth. I think I got a good result in quite a short time.

Here is the sympathy card I created:

My card base is chocolate chip, the DSP is Newsprint which I find really useable, and my highlight colour is Sahara Sand. I embossed with versamark and white embossing powder which I love, but swiping the card with your embossing buddy is a must! Then just pick out the flowers and leaves with your versamarker – it just deepens the colour and adds accent.   See what I mean? I’ve further highlighted with a little glitz at the centre of each flower.  My little diamanté ribbon slider is from intangible and the ribbon is retired stampin up.  My with sympathy sentiment is from the Loving Thoughts stamp set that goes so well with these images…

Look at this neutral gorgeousness:

This brings me to my next card…

Using another sentiment from Loving Thoughts, I’ve created a Wedding Card to have in my collection.  I love mixing all of these subtle colours and think the Newsprint DSP just finishes it off beautifully.  I’m so happy with this card 🙂

I went to town with my shimmer paint in Champagne Mist -sponging it liberally all over the edges of everything!!!

Well I hope you enjoyed looking over these projects – if you have any questions, please just let me know:)
