Handmade Cards

Pretty Chipboard Butterflies

My lovely friend Chelsea turned 14 this week and I made this card especially for her 🙂

If you have Glimmer paper in your stash you also have a sheet of very nice chipboard that comes in the packaging.  I love creating my own chipboard butterflies out of this – I simply cut it to size and run it through my big shot using my Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die here, creating a chipboard butterfly , then a patterned paper one and glue them together with my glue stick.

I love layering them this way – for the smaller butterflies I used my Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die here

And of course I finished the inside of the card with another butterfly and more ribbon and patterned paper:

Aren’t these colours just perfect for a teenage girl?  My card base is Soft Suede and I’ve used Pool Party as my highlight colour.  And I’ve finished the card off with a generous spritzing of shimmer spray (made from mixing shimmer paint with early espresso reinker and Isocol).

Hope you enjoyed my project today – you can order butterfly dies from the Stampin’ Up! Online store through the links above – just be sure to create an account and use the Demonstrator Directory to choose me as your demonstrator to receive preferred pricing 🙂
