Watercolour Emboss Resist Card

Hi Girls,

Every now and then I see a technique that I am dying to try, and Emboss Resist with water colouring is one of these techniques.  I’ve created cards with Emboss Resist and sponging before, but after seeing a card recently by the talented Tracey Wilson which featured layer upon layer of stamping, embossing and water colouring, I decided to spend an evening in my craft room experimenting with a similar look.

This is the first design I created.  I’ve used white embossing powder here and the background stamp is En Francais.

I found the key to this look was layer upon layer of colouring and to stamp the background last when the water colour paper is still damp to encourage it to smudge a little and soften.

Here is the second design, using Pool Party embossing powder:

The stamp set with these gorgeous birds is called Clearly For You.  Isn’t the Coastal Cabana Card stock mat just the most gorgeous colour?  I love in particular how the En Francais script has bled.

Thanks as always for stopping by…
