One of my favourite things about a new Stampin’ Up! Catalogue is the big reveal of the new In Colours. This year definitely did not disappoint – my card today features one of these – Crisp Cantaloupe and I’ve teamed it with the absolutely stunning Smokey Slate – another new addition to the colour families this year.
Isn’t the Smokey Slate chevron ribbon gorgeous? My little flowers are stamped in white embossing powder on the Smokey Slate Card Stock and the background stamp is the Very Vintage Wheel Stamped in Smokey Slate Ink onto DSP.
I just love a stamped envelope and the wheel images often lend themselves well for this purpose.
I’ve recently started mounting my Stampin wheels, that is making a cut at the join with my craft knife, tearing the rubber carefully from the wheel and mounting it to self adhesive clear mount foam (available in the current catalogue). This converts the wheel to a clear mount stamp and means I can place the images exactly where I want it. In the case of this wheel I love the butterfly and it isn’t always possible to judge where it will come out when I wheel it onto my project.
Thanks for letting me share this project with you today and hopefully you get some time at your craft table this weekend!
