Have you ever combined dry and heat embossing on one of your cards? Both techniques give quite a different effect and when the same colour is used, it can be very dramatic. In this case I have dry embossed gold cardstock for my background and heat embossed gold embossing powder using a single stamp from Stampin’ Up! Christmas Star:
I decided not to add a sentiment to the front of this card – it is so obviously Christmas. I really like the red stamped star on the envelope too. Can you see the 3D effect on the star?
I scored along the white lines of the star, and folded the score lines gently, before applying hot glue to the inside points and pressing only those down. This works really well as long as you work quickly 🙂 I finished the star with a large rhinestone.
