Window to the Heart

Hi there,

I’d like to share this project with you today – it’s one of those cards that came to me in a vision – I knew exactly what I wanted to create in terms of colour and layout and felt incredibly satisfied when it looked exactly as I had envisioned it!Heart Window Full

My splatters are stamped in Versamark with the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set and embossed with Pool Party Embossing Powder – fabulous!

Heart Window Top

Look at that gold twine! My main flower stamp is from Button Buddies and the small ones are a long gone hostess set (the name escapes me but I love how it matches the punch).

Heart Window Bottom

Gold Sequins add a finishing touch with Gold Stickles on top.

Heart Window Inside

And inside is really effective too.  The colours I have used are Soft Sky, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda bay on a neutral background of White and Kraft.

Thanks for stopping by, hope I’ve inspired you to handcraft today!

Christmas Star and Dry and Heat Embossing

Hi Girls,

Have you ever combined dry and heat embossing on one of your cards? Both techniques give quite a different effect and when the same colour is used, it can be very dramatic.  In this case I have dry embossed gold cardstock for my background and heat embossed gold embossing powder using a single stamp from Stampin’ Up! Christmas Star:

I decided not to add a sentiment to the front of this card – it is so obviously Christmas.  I really like the red stamped star on the envelope too.  Can you see the 3D effect on the star?

I scored along the white lines of the star, and folded the score lines gently, before applying hot glue to the inside points and pressing only those down.  This works really well as long as you work quickly 🙂  I finished the star with a large rhinestone.
