Luminaries with the Medallion Stamp

Wow its been a while since I have posted on here – so sorry for the blog hiatus but November has been CRAZY! One of the highlights of the month has definitely been my craft weekend away with a fantastic group of crafty girls to Avalon Homestead in Toodyay – It was my first retreat and the first weekend away on my own in too many years to even try and count! To be only responsible to oneself for a whole weekend is a strange (but lovely) feeling!

My favourite project I created on my craft weekend were these Christmas Luminaries:

I must confess that the 12 x 12 card I started with is not a SU product, but of course their 12 x 12 textured card stock in Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Soft Suede would have done the trick had I some at hand!  So how did I create this gorgeous effect? I stamped the Medallion stamp in Stazon ink onto vellum and adhered it behind the circle cutouts.  Once assembled and stuck tight with sticky strip, I added feature brads on all top corners and then liberally sprayed with my gold Smooch Spritz (a sneak preview of a product which will be available in the new Summer Mini come Dec 1!)

I think I manages to catch the smooch spritz a little better in this shot – it just added a gorgeous metallic sheen all over the card stock and onto the stamped vellum too.  And yes the medallion is featured on all sides of my Luminarie.

The actual box part was easy – I scored 10cm in on all sides and then before cutting out the corner squares (Which I didn’t need) I drew in tabs to attach the sides to each other.

Why not have a go at a Christmas decoration like this for your festive season table this year?
