I really struggle with new ways to combine SU blues and greens – with two boys it is kind of a necessity to use blue in a fresh and exciting way… so I’ve asked the stampers over in our team area A Klass Act to give me some ideas in the form of scrapbook layouts during May – We have three on board for the challenge at the moment and I can’t wait to see what inspiration they will offer up!
This is why I started this layout, which turned into a canvas, which switched from the title “Our Boys” to “Grand Kids” when I realised how perfect it was for Mother’s Day for my Mum…
My colour Combination is Baja Breeze, Brocade Blue, Sage Shadow, with Pacific Point and Soft Suede Highlights. I’ve started with a base of my very last piece of Baja Breeze Specialty DSP from the retired Parisian Breeze Pack (bummer), and then layered down from there. If you are wondering where i go my hands on the brocade blue DSP – that is from the great little 6×6 patterns hostess paper pack (ILOVE THAT HOSTESS OPTION!)
Like My Birdhouse? I have used my Two Step Bird Punch for this little beauty, and cased the branch idea from my gorgeous friend Kat who actually rolled $20 and $50 notes into branches with the birdy on top for an Engagement card which was a FAB idea!!!
With my Scallop Circle Flowers, I added a top layer punched from the new and versatile window sheets from the AWM. I really like the way it gives the flowers an extra dimension not to mention a bit of shine!
I love a stamped title on a scrapbook layout – even though I now have my spiffy new Timeless Junior Alphabet Die Cut Set with my bigshot – I think stamping suits this layout with the not so perfect finish you get on different textured card:
And I need to show you this – I love my Art By Design Stamp set – it is designed with great elements to stamp on crafts to sell (they have the Stampin’ Up! logo on them) – but I find myself using them as design elements to finish cards and layouts:
I use this stamp on the back of my cards for sale.
