Handmade Cards

Loving Monochrome Cards

I’ve been browsing blogs of late and noticing all the beautiful monochrome cards out there – so I have had a wee go myself this week and this is what I came up with:

I limited myself to Island Indigo and Sahara Sand Card Stock (along with a non SU textured Vanilla CS) and only Island Indigo Ink.  All of the images I have used are from the SAB set Fresh Vintage (Free until end of month with $100 order) except the sentiment which is from the hostess set Perfect Words which is one of my faves at moment…

I don’t have the postage stamp punch yet so I’ve used a scallop square and cut off the majority of the scallops leaving a kind of postage look 🙂

My Ribbon Border Punch detail under the sentiment is free floating except for a dollop of tombow glue underneath the sentiment punch (modern label).

My butterfly is embossed with iridescent ice and the same flower stamp used in t he background, and then mounted to chipboard with a multipurpose adhesive sheet and run through the Bigshot with my Beautiful Butterflies die.

And here is a Calypso Coral Version:

Hope you enjoyed my projects for today – if you are interested in any more details, leave me a comment and I will do my best to explain any of the elements of my card to you 🙂
